ACTS is based in Nigeria, West Africa ACTS is registered as a non-profit trust with the Corporate Affairs Commission of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ACTS operates under a Board of Trustees and thus is like an NGO (non-governmental organisation) or FBO (faith-based organisation) contributing to the development of resources for the training and education of Christian workers in Africa. Nigeria, ACTS home base, is Africa's most populous nation (120 million). The Nigerian church is probably the third largest national evangelical church in the world. The eagerness of churches for leadership training is encouraging. However, the learning resources for their theological education programmes are very limited. Jos, Plateau State, is the location for ACTS HQ. Jos is a centrally located city with a population of close to one million. It is a strategic centre because there are several important theological institutions and also many churches and mission organisations have their headquarters in Jos. Our ACTS bookshop is well-situated in the interdenominational environment of the Theological College of Northern Nigeria (TCNN), Bukuru (a suburb of Jos). We also have three branch bookshops in Nigeria - at the West Africa Theological Seminary, Lagos, in Samuel Bill Theological College, Abak, Akwa Ibom State, in Nigeria Baptist Theological Seminary, Ogbomoso, as well as three bookshops in Kenya. Equipping Leaders through Literature Literature is a vital element in the training of the African Christian leaders of today and tomorrow for mission and ministry. Solid and suitable literature is needed at different levels. This is where ACTS has emerged and is beginning to have a significant impact. MORE ACTS FACTS |
